Registration for this full-day OpenGov Unconference is free. Attendees will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis. Once the 130 slots are filled, we will open up a waiting list for additional people to register.
When you register, please provide an idea either for a business problem you would like discussed and possibly solved by the group or a topic you would be willing to facilitate a discussion about. Your proposed topic should be articulated in a short single sentence, but make sure it's something that others will understand since they will be voting based on your description.
Up to eight topics will be discussed to find solutions.
Here are some examples:
The MySchool website attracts significant commentary but is an example of widespread data transparency. Why has the opening up of this data caused such a furore and how could this have been managed differently? Given the value of this information, how could the creation of context have significantly changed its presentation?
Organisations are increasingly concerned about “sustainability”. How can Sustainability Reporting be improved by the contextual bringing together of a variety of data and information in order to provide a real-time snapshot of what’s going on? What happens when something changes?
Business reporting – organisations report to government on a daily basis. How can the new Standard Business Reporting initiative be taken to the next level across government agencies?
How can governments get a more accurate picture of the total economy across all sectors?
Consumer and Citizen engagement – the call for “participatory democracy” is one that is gaining momentum. This can be facilitated through Web 2.0 technologies but what are the implications for government and how might this look for government agencies?
